Video site Joost has released a nicely put together iPhone app. It looks well and the video quality appears to be pretty good.

However, while trying it out yesterday, it seems to crash quite a bit. Also, I’m not sure if its because I am based outside the states but the content seemed fairly limited.

Still its a promising app and its nice to see more of this sort of thing given the lack of flash playback on the iPhone.

Erica Sadun (How many times have I mentioned her now this week) has posted a good article pointing out some of the simplest gotchas you can fall foul of when submitted your app to the app store.

By the way, I also can’t say enough good things about Erica’s IPhone Developers Cookbook

Erica Sadun has found out more about the iPhone TV out.

http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2008/11/28/iphone-tv-out-update-now-with-control-screen-camera-feed

It appears you can have a screen on display while you use the TV. I wonder do Apple see this as a presentation api or could this be used for games in some way.

It looks like sales of the G1 from HTC will top 1 million by the end of the year.

Not bad at all considering it was only release towards the end of October.

Considering Motorola are switching to Android next year sales can only accelerate.

I see there is a second Android phone coming along with some interesting ideas.

http://www.zzzphone.com/

The handset has modular hardware you can plug in, like an extended life battery, full “qwert” (their text not mine) keyboard, a projector and even a “Boom Box”.

If the hardware is anything like the site its not going to be a great phone. However the basic model is only $119 unlocked. This is the advantage of Android being and open source system coming to life. However, its also the disadvantage. What will users think of Android when there are load of cheap and nasty handsets available.

Check out the TV ad, its a credit to the producer.

I especially like the fact that I can get a gold plated version with Diamonds (in custom positions) for only $225,000, complete with four girls dancing on the beach.
